Vintage & Heirloom Quilt Repair

from £45.00

Thoughtful repairs for quilts with a story to tell.

Antique and vintage patchwork quilts carry memories in every stitch. Over time, even the most carefully treasured quilts can develop worn patches, fragile cottons and areas that need attention.

At Brighton Stitch, I offer sympathetic repairs to vintage and much-loved patchwork quilts, carefully selecting complementary cotton fabrics to sit alongside the originals.

Rather than attempting to disguise every repair, my approach respects the quilt's age, character and history, allowing new fabric to become part of its continuing story.

Each quilt is assessed individually, with repairs discussed and agreed before work begins.

Enquire about a quilt repair

Send photographs of your quilt, including the damaged areas, along with anything you know about its age or history. I'll be happy to discuss whether I can help. Initial assessment from photographs is free. As an approximate guide, it is £25 per working hour, and a six-hour repair would be £150 before materials. Will keep costs low if I use my own materials but may need to purchase some to suit the project. Machine stitching is quicker and cheaper. Hand stitching can take considerably longer.
