Memory Laptop Sleeve Commission
Carry a story, not just a laptop
Some fabrics are too meaningful to leave folded away in a drawer.
A grandmother's needlepoint. A favourite shirt worn for years. A football shirt full of memories. Workwear from a long career. A baby's first clothes. A treasured textile belonging to someone who is no longer with us.
Brighton Stitch transforms sentimental fabrics into a practical, padded laptop sleeve that can be used every day. Each piece is individually designed and handcrafted, creating a lasting way to keep special memories close at hand.
Because every commission begins with your own textiles, no two are ever the same.
Suitable fabrics
Needlepoint and tapestry
Baby clothes and children's garments
Shirts, dresses and favourite clothing
Football, rugby and sports shirts
Workwear and uniforms
Vintage textiles and linens (depending on condition)
Other sentimental textiles with a personal story
The process
1. Get in touch
Send me a message with photographs of your fabrics and a brief description of the story behind them. We can discuss colours, layout ideas and the size of laptop the sleeve needs to fit.
2. Send your textiles
Once the design has been agreed, you'll post your fabrics to me. I will advise how much material is needed before you send anything.
3. Design and making
I carefully assess the fabrics and create a design that showcases the most meaningful elements whilst ensuring the sleeve remains durable and practical for everyday use.
Each sleeve is padded, lined and finished with a zip closure.
4. Delivery
Your finished laptop sleeve will be carefully wrapped and posted to you, ready to use or give as a gift.
Pricing
Memory Laptop Sleeve Commissions typically start from £95.
The final price depends on the complexity of the fabrics, the amount of restoration or stabilisation required, and the design involved.
A note about treasured textiles
I understand that many commissioned fabrics are irreplaceable. Every piece is handled with great care and respect throughout the making process.
If you have a special textile and would like to explore the possibilities, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
